Privacy Policy

Koala Study Mate (“we”, “us”) is a study app for primary students. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. If you are under 18, please read this with a parent or guardian.

Information we collect

Account details – your email address, username and a securely hashed password, when you create an account.
Study data – your level, quiz and spelling results, words you add, coins and My Koala items. Without an account this is kept on your own device; with an account it is saved on our server so it can be restored (syncing across devices is a Premium feature).
Child profiles – Premium accounts can add child profiles, which store a name you choose and that child’s study data.
Photos and spreadsheets (Premium) – if you add words from a photo, the image is sent to an AI service (Anthropic) to read the words and is not saved by us. Spreadsheet words are saved to your own list only.
Payments – handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep only your subscription status.
Messages – anything you send us through the Contact form or by email, so we can reply.

How we use it

To run the app, save progress and let you log in.
To send emails you need: verification, password reset, username reminders and, if you choose, a weekly progress report.
To provide support and keep the service safe.

We do not sell personal information and we do not show advertising.

Cookies and device storage

We use a secure session cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser’s local storage to remember settings and progress. The app loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google may receive your IP address when fonts load.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to operate the app: Cloudflare (hosting, database and email), Stripe (payments) and Anthropic (reading words from photos). They only receive what is needed to provide their service.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account in My Account after confirming your password; your data is then deleted. If your subscription ends, your Premium data is kept locked rather than deleted until you delete the account.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing us. Parents and guardians can ask us to review or delete a child’s information at any time.

Koala Study Mate(이하 “우리”)는 초등학생을 위한 학습 앱이에요. 이 페이지에서는 어떤 정보를 왜 수집하는지, 어떤 선택을 할 수 있는지 설명해요. 만 18세 미만이라면 보호자와 함께 읽어 주세요.

수집하는 정보

계정 정보 – 계정을 만들 때 입력한 이메일, 사용자 이름, 안전하게 암호화된 비밀번호.
학습 정보 – 레벨, 퀴즈·스펠링 결과, 추가한 단어, 코인, My Koala 아이템. 계정이 없으면 내 기기에만 저장되고, 계정이 있으면 복원할 수 있도록 서버에 저장돼요(기기 간 동기화는 프리미엄 기능이에요).
자녀 프로필 – 프리미엄 계정은 자녀 프로필을 추가할 수 있어요. 직접 정한 이름과 그 자녀의 학습 정보가 저장돼요.
사진·엑셀(프리미엄) – 사진으로 단어를 추가하면 단어를 읽기 위해 이미지가 AI 서비스(Anthropic)로 전송되며, 우리는 사진을 저장하지 않아요. 엑셀 단어는 내 목록에만 저장돼요.
결제 – Stripe가 처리해요. 카드 번호는 우리가 보거나 저장하지 않고, 구독 상태만 보관해요.
문의 내용 – 문의하기 또는 이메일로 보낸 내용은 답변을 위해 보관해요.

사용 목적

앱 운영, 학습 기록 저장, 로그인 제공.
꼭 필요한 이메일 발송: 인증, 비밀번호 재설정, 아이디 안내, 선택 시 주간 학습 리포트.
고객 지원과 서비스 보호.

개인정보를 판매하지 않고 광고도 보여주지 않아요.

쿠키와 기기 저장소

로그인 상태를 유지하는 보안 세션 쿠키를 쓰고, 설정과 학습 기록을 기억하기 위해 브라우저 저장소를 써요. 앱은 Google Fonts에서 글꼴을 불러오므로 글꼴을 불러올 때 Google이 IP 주소를 받을 수 있어요.

정보를 받는 곳

앱 운영을 위해 Cloudflare(호스팅·데이터베이스·이메일), Stripe(결제), Anthropic(사진 단어 읽기)을 써요. 이들은 서비스 제공에 필요한 정보만 받아요.

보관과 삭제

계정이 있는 동안 정보를 보관해요. 내 계정에서 비밀번호를 확인한 뒤 탈퇴하면 데이터가 삭제돼요. 구독이 끝나도 프리미엄 데이터는 삭제하지 않고 잠가 두며, 계정을 삭제하면 함께 삭제돼요.

선택할 수 있는 것

이메일로 정보 열람·수정·삭제를 요청할 수 있어요. 보호자는 언제든 자녀의 정보를 확인하거나 삭제해 달라고 요청할 수 있어요.
